Question of the Day: What is your fondest childhood memory of your father or grandfather?
All the memories of my dad are good ones, I think. But I remember when I was six or seven, how he took a whole week off of work, just to teach me to ride my bike without training wheels. And the first couple of times, I'd cry every time he suggested taking them off, and he'd tell me how big girls didn't need them, and how he knew I could do it.

By about Tuesday or something, I woke up and he'd taken the training wheels off, and we'd walk about the back yard, him holding the bike, and me pedalling, and we did that for a few days, and then just before we went in for lunch on Thursday, he let go of the bike. I wish this was one of those cute stories where he let go and I rode, buuuut it didn't happen. And I fell on my ass. Ha. :) But by Friday I'd got the hang of it! So him taking the week off kinda helped :)

Now I'll turn the question on you. What's your best memory of your dad?

Oh, and happy fathers day to everyones dads!

This little boy is two years old, and he's been a smoker since he was 18 months. Doesn't that make you so sad, and so sick that these parents aren't stopping this happening? That they don't care what they're doing to their child? People have offered to buy his family a car if they stop him from smoking, but they won't. Apparently his dad said that he seems healthy, and that there's no reason to make him stop. But he isn't healthy. Think of what his lungs must look like. They're not even developed at two as it is! Let alone clogging up what he has with tar. He can't even play with his friends because he's too unfit too, and he throws tantrums if they don't give him a cigarette.

I used to smoke back in my Freshman year of high school back in California, because all my friends did it, and they got a hold of cigarettes, and I didn't see the big deal in doing it because they were. But I haven't wanted to smoke in a long while now, and looking back, it didn't taste that good, it made my breath smell, and it made my throat feel tight, as if I couldn't breathe properly. If people want to smoke that's up to them, but I guess that's just what I think about smoking.

What's everyone up to for the next few weeks of summer? I'm in New York! It was kind of decided in the last few days of school that I'd be staying with my dad's brother and his wife. It was cheaper and made more sense than me flying to my aunt's house, considering she lives so far away. I haven't seen them in years though. It's interesting. :) But then vacation with Annabel!

The animal kingdom never ceases to amaze me. I was looking around the internet, and I found this news article all about magpies, and other birds like ravens and crows. It was so sweet, and it said that scientists have found that when they find the body of one of their kind, they'll gently peck it, then they'll fly off and get some grass to act as a wreath, then they'll stand next to the crow for a few minutes, and then fly away.

That's the most amazing thing to me, the idea that animals grieve in the same way we do, and would think to do things like that. In my opinion, animals aren't just brainless things - they're actually really intelligent. Sakari makes me laugh so much sometimes with the things he does, and when I'm feeling sad or run down, he'll come and nose at me, and keep me company. What is one thing that amazes you about animals?

Anyway, tonight is the last night you can see Spring Awakening if you haven't been yet! I went to see it every other night, and again tonight. It's...interesting, hehe :)

Do you know what hasn't happened lately? Anonymous posts. And though I don't normally like people talking about me, and I get seriously paranoid, I thought...why not? I can take a little criticism :) So say whatever you want, just don't be too harsh? Thanks :)

ALSO during Spring Break I got a dog! I can't believe I haven't talked about him yet, but he's an American Eskimo named Sakari, and he's so crazy, running around the room, curling up on my bed, and being scared of Atticus. I love him :)

I've had a really nice Valentine's Day! Proving it's as much for single people as people in relationships :p Especially since this afternoon I got a call from a girl I haven't seen since I was eleven or something crazy like that! She said that she'd been trying to get hold of me for a few months just to catch up, but because of moving around, she had trouble finding my number, then she got hold of my aunt's, and she gave it to her. Me and her used to go to summer camp together when we were six, and then we used to talk to eachother here and there after I stopped going to camp, and then when I moved, I guess I lost her number or something.

But we talked about old camp fire songs and she reminded of me this one!

It's really sad I guess, since it's about getting older, and how things change, and we can't change the past. So it kind of fits us drifting apart. But we used to sing it the last night of camp every year, and everyone would cry, even the camp counselors - but it was tradition!

So I know it's a little early but, what were your best memories of past summers? I wouldn't trade my summers at camp for anything :)

So! It's a month into the new year now (well, almost, give or take a day) BUT I was wondering how anyone's New Years resolutions were going if you made any! Normally around this time of year is when people stop doing them because they get bored, isn't it?

I didn't end up making one this year, but last year I said I'd eat less chocolate. Not to lose weight or anything, but just because it's really not good for you. That lasted for about a month, and then I got really bad cravings for it and I had to eat it again! But oh well, chocolates good for a reason :)

Oh and really random question, but does anyone recognise this place? I just started sketching one day, and I wondered if I'd made it up at all;

I have a headache :( Have you ever stared at a screen for so long, that the words, or pictures, or text just kind of jumbles into one? I can't describe it, but it just looks like the page has thrown up or something. And even the simplest words don't make sense? I could read this back in five minutes time and none of it would make sense to me. It's the worse when you're trying to read a book, and you're five or ten pages from the end, and you know you have to finish it right now, or it's gonna bug you that you're so near the end, but you end up reading the same sentence a million times before it sinks in.

I don't even know what I'm talking about.

I found this fact website earlier on that has predictions from 1900, about what they think will happen in 100 years time. Some are so accurate, but some...really aren't, but the ones that are right are really accurate, like about space travel. But imagine if strawberries were as big as apples! Or if C, Q and X had been taken out of the alphabet.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! It's 3am here in the Phillippines, and my aunt went to bed about four hours ago, so I got bored and decided to update this. Is anyone else tracking Santa? He's in Azerbaijan at the moment, and then he's going onto Armenia after that! My dad found the link when I was about 7 or 8, and he'd sit with me at our computer and we'd drink hot chocolate until he sent me to bed at about 9 o'clock, even though I was too excited to sleep. Even when I got older, I still liked to sit and watch the website, it's kind of like a tradition for me.

Apparently the air defence command accidentally got a call from a little boy who called, giving the colonel who answered his christmas list, and instead of shouting at the boy for wasting his time, gave him Santa's location, and then told all the people working on the phonelines to do the same. I think that's really sweet, that he didn't want to upset the children calling in, so he made up a lie to keep the children believing he was real. It made me think about lying in general, actually. When is a lie not a lie? Would you tell a lie to protect someone from the truth, or to stop them getting hurt, or is honesty always the best policy?

I'm pretty sure school has been piling on the workload on purpose - I'm so tired of it! I don't think I've seen so much homework around Christmas before! I guess the people setting it must be real Scrooges? Speaking of which! I want to see that new Christmas Carol movie? Apparently it's a little scary though, even for a Disney movie, but if anyone wants to go with me, you're more than welcome! If a whole bunch of us want to go, then we can arrange a trip to go and see it or something, I don't know. I'm in a much more Christmassy mood now Christmas is so close, anyway!

And because I have nothing else to talk about here, really, I thought I'd ask you one of those Writer's Block questions: "Is there any character from a novel or film that serves as a role model to you?" I think I really am inspired by Jo from Little Women. I read it in my Freshman year of High School, and I loved the book, and how Jo strives to get recognised for what she can do, and isn't happy with just settling down and being a wife like she and her sisters are expected to do. She proves that you can do anything if you just try.
